Most of our time was spent on the Big Island. We went to see the active volcano, went to quite a few beaches. Rick, Jason & Maki snorkeled (photos on another page). Jason & Maki went to a tour about coffee production and also chocolate production (sugar cane was closed). They aslo enjoyed tasting all kinds of beer at different breweries.
Many flowers were in bloom. It would rain/mist each day. High's were in the 80's (November). We were surprised at seeing all the black lava on the ground everywhere.
Again Jason rented a jeep & we drove around the entire island in several days. I took a total of 2,900 photos with many being from the back seat of a jeep, driving various speeds over various roads (rocky, bumpy, patched pavement, dirt, sharp curves, ups & downs, etc) Had less than a 30% chance a photo would even turn out...so I was pleased with the results. Thank heavens for Digital Photography!
